Mark Ladouceur

Bio for Mark Ladouceur

Third-person version

Mark has been writing since he was young, thanks to encouragement from his parents. His career aspirations have included firefighter, race car driver, starship captain, member of the fellowship and Jedi knight.

As a substitute, he enjoys writing about worlds of his own making and seeing what kind of trouble he can get his characters into.

When not writing, Mark enjoys reading whatever he can, whenever he can. He finds it nice to say that his daydreaming in class has actually paid off now.

Mark Ladouceur lives with his wife (a kick-ass copy editor) and adorable daughter (not that he’s biased) in Southwestern Ontario.

First-person version

I’ve written and put aside one novel, then begun and continued working on a second one.

I’ve also written a number of short stories, one of which appears in the anthology, Mythspring, from Red Deer Press, edited by Julie E. Czerneda and Genevieve Kierans.

Another hobby of mine is art. When I was young I took a number of courses at the community centre in my home town. As I got older I put it aside and focused on things I thought I should to get a good job. I took courses in sculpture, painting and cartooning. I still have some of the pieces I did and it’s fun to look at them again.

Other interesting facts

I've done technical communications for most of my post-university career. In recent years I've developed and interest in design work and for a short time had a web site dedicated to work that I've done; an online portfolio.
