Robert J. Sawyer: Rob Sawyer is Canada’s most well-known science fiction author. His site is a good resource for articles on writing and there are several short stories posted as well.
Julie E. Czerneda: Julie Czerneda is a great Canadian author whom I discovered in 2001. Her books are well-written and well-paced, with a good blend of characters and action. Exactly the type of writing that I’d like to do.
Terrence M. Green: Terry Green is another excellent Canadian author whom I found through Rob Sawyer’s recommendation. His latest three books are best described as urban fantasy, or modern fantasy. They take place in our world in the present day with a bit of magic in the mix.
Harlan Ellison: Harlan Ellison is one of the preeminent speculative fiction authors of our time. Even though he doesn’t have much use for computers, one of his fans does and maintains this sight under the author’s official sanctioning (although updates are few and far between now).
J.R.R. Tolkien: This is the official site from Harper Collins. There’s quite a bit of content here: samples of artwork, text, maps and other items of interest.
Terry Pratchett: Pratchett turns the fantasy clichés upside down with his funny and intelligent stories. He’s best known for his Discworld novels, which are well worth reading.
Orson Scott Card: Scott Card is one of my personal favourites. He deftly combines well-plotted stories with good characters.
Made in Canada: A compendium of Canadian science fiction. Don Bassie does a great job of keeping track of the community here in Canada.
John Mierau: A good friend of mine and a fellow new author "living in Grimsby, Ontario with a patient wife and spoiled yellow lab. Right now I’m juggling a good day job and the word count on my first novel."
Ruth Stuart: In her own words is a poet, a writer, a dreamer, a supporter of Canadian speculative fiction.
Karina Sumner-Smith: Another friend of mine. From her web site, "Simply put? I’m a fantasy and science fiction author. A new SF/F writer, an emerging SF/F writer, a clawing-her-way-from-total-obscurity SF/F writer — whatever works."
Sarah Jane Elliott: Sarah Jane Elliott is a Canadian author of Speculative Fiction and is another friend of mine.
Annette Griessman: A childrens’ book author, computer game fan and science fiction fan.
Mike Rimar: A new author living in Ontario who’s story "Annus Mirabilis" appears in L. Ron Hubbard Presents The Writers of The Future Anthology XXI.
Kontent Online: The site of artist Kenn Brown. Check out his image of the week.
