Writing
Published work
I write a mix of science fiction and fantasy. My first published stories are horror. Here you’ll find information on my short stories and the novel I’m working on, as well as some short personal essays.
To date I’ve produced two novels and a number of short stories. I enjoy the depth that you can develop in a novel, but as a part-time author, the development cycle’s a killer. I’m trying to produce more shorts, because I need the rush of getting a sale in between the years required for a novel.
The Company Car
When Carlos loses his car in a street race he finds an opportunity to get another, but he gets more than he expected. Company Car will be available in the summer 08 issue of Storyteller Magazine. Click here for more.
Windigo
In the dead of winter, Windigo stalks the frozen north hunting for victims to feed on, or to possess with the hunger for human flesh. Windigo was published in the anthology Mythspring, from Red Deer Press. Click here for more.
Free stories
These three stories didn’t find a market and so I’m offering them in their entirety for download.
Red-shirts
I wrote this for an anthology that Pocket Books was doing; publishing Star Trek stories by amateur authors. Click here for more.
Dreams of Arthur
This came quickly to me. I wrote it in a day. I’m still satisfied with the story despite the lack of a long development process, which I’m used to. Click here for more.
Waiting For...
Another short short story. Somewhat abstract and a bit of a departure for me. Click here for more.
Personal essays
Not like the ones you wrote in school, these are my thoughts on some of the places I’ve been to and things I’ve done.
Big Trip to London - June 2003
The Hotel - June 2003
Legends of Flight - March 2001
